Receiving the prize for the contest A tribute to heroes"

The Sun Dragon Clan organized a contest: A tribute to heroes. The idea was simple and nice: you had to write a small (or long) story about one of your first hero when you was for the first zodiacs on the island.

Thanks to Koppi, I heard about this contest. I choose to try (I found the idea so nice). And, with the help of Aitnos in the library, I succeeded in writing something small in the common tongue.

The Sun Dragon Clan choosed my story for the first price! I was so proud! I go to their meeting where I met Sten, Aurian, Elim, Sor, Rylantar, Speedier, Sielk, Baerwizz and Koraleva (Boondogle was also there, but I don't think he is an active member of the Sun Dragon Clan). There I was warmly congratulated.

SDC congratulated me

After that I went hunting with them. On the picture here under, we are waiting for Sor (who was lost, one time more :-) in the marsh

Thank you the Sun Dragon Clan!

Here is the little story I wrote for the contest.

This day was a good day: I was alone in the north rats' tower near the west gate of the town and I had been able to kill all the rats and vermines there. I was a little proud of myself. I was catching my breath … He enters in the tower at this moment. I smiled shyly, greeted him and went backwards by two steps. I knew he was a Apprentice, I was sure I had to beware. I had understood that mystics were strange people, they were able to call powerful magic, they were able to know where you was and what you thought … sure, the emperor has some mystics at his service!

Certainly, he understood I was uneasy or he read in my mind. So he began to chat, maybe to gain my trust.
— He said, "I see the wedding chapel is finally done ... Indeed handy … should I ever want to get married!", he smiled.
We continued to speak together. I asked him his advice about different topics. Slowly he was gaining my trust …
— "In fact, I am always a little bit afraid of mystic!", I finaly said.
— "Eep! Mystics are no to be feared! Mystics are here to help …" … "I just widely travel and I try to be observant"
— "You travel a lot? Great! I stay in town and in the farms, I am scared to go outside."
— "Is there anywhere in particular you would like to see?" … "You have been to the meadow?"
— "The meadow? no, I don't know that." I replied.
— "Let's go, Farhope!"

We travelled beyond the east farms and we entered the east fields. I was overawed by the immensity of this area. Quickly we were attacked by giant vermines, I tried to help him to vanquish one, but with the second giant vermine I finaly fell. After calling help for me (and he had to explain me what a sunstone was), he said "Nobody seems coming for you. I bring you back to town". Just after that I feeled that something started dragging me. I exclaimed "Wow, great magic!". He smiled while running back to town "No, it is only a chain. Anyone can get one."

In town, I was quickly healed. I looked at him. He was able to bring me back from a dangerous part of the island, the east fields, and he was able to break my untrust towards the mystics. Yes, my first hero was a mystic, … Rincewind.

Rincewind, one of my first hero
